TEARS 2 CHEERS
Tears 2 Cheers was founded in 2006 as an outreach program with the aim of reaching
the less fortunate kids, struggling single mothers and the elderly living in the less developed areas of the Community. The deplorable conditions these people live in, give rise to fatal
diseases and many social upheavals.
Through medical outreaches, one arm of the Tears 2 Cheers, we have been able to treat folk against many diseases, educate them about prevention and maintaining a clean environment. Above all, we share with them the love of Jesus holistically irrespective of their religious backgrounds and ethnicity. Coupled with other outreach projects, we are slowly realizing our dream of; A Cheer for every Tear!
These are our mid term and long term medical outreach goals:
1. (a) Medical outreaches
Medical clinics are conducted at least twice a year. On average we treat about 400 persons, kids inclusive. We purchase medical supplies, provide transport and food to the medical workers and the very sick who have traveled long distances. Treatment involves counseling, general check-ups, prescriptions, blood checks for Malaria and STD’s and where possible minor surgeries. Most of these clinics for the most part are conducted within our Church facility.

(b) Community Clinic
We feel a growing need to set up a community clinic. A place the poor/ low income groups will come and access treatment at a much reduced and subsidized cost. It will help provide basic diagnosis and treatment of communicable and noncommunicable diseases. Here we shall fully address the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our people. (Read More)
Other projects in this program:
2. Community nutrition
(a). We help provide grocery packs on a monthly basis to at least 75 elderly & struggling single moms, some of whom are living with HIV/AIDS. Each pack costs $15. Sometimes we take longer because of financial constraints.
(b). Every Christmas season alongside having a Christmas party/fun for the kids in the community, we try to give Christmas gift packs to the very needy children and mothers from our neighborhoods. A simple gift pack is $25.
3. Child Sponsorship
We have been trying to pay tuition for up to 12 children of single moms living with HIV/AIDS. Our goal is to help pay tuition for at least 50 kids of these kids. Each child needs $355 a year OR $30 a month to be able to go to school and have a basic education.
4. Clean Drinking Water
Our long term goal is to see at least 1000 poor households in our community with clean drinking water by purchasing and distributing portable water purifier units that are accessible on the local market. A unit costs $40. We have so far distributed close to 500 of these in the last four year through friends and well wishers.
ADMINISTRATIVE NEEDS:
The need to manage and supervise these projects requires at least two full-time salaried staff. A Pastor and an Administrative Assistant. A basic salary of $250 and $200 per month respectively would suffice. Kindly pray with us that God will raise partners and the needed financial resources.
God bless you.
